manaakitanga for animals

Today we made posters on manaakitanga but instead of caring for others we did caring for animals. It was fun because we could do a poster or a slide and I like posters a lot so I chose a poster. I chose to put multiple examples to show that people should treat animals well. I personally enjoyed this activity  because we could show how animals should be treated. I love my animals. I hope people treat animals how they would want to be treated.

My artwork was a horse that I drew myself from scratch. At first we just used normal art pencils for the animals.[trimmed it on the side leaving a little bit of the white paper]  Then when we were finished drawing we glued it onto a piece of colored paper of your choice. After that we cut it out again, leaving a little of the color paper on the outside. Also we got another piece of white paper, pastel and a newspaper and made our own background on the white paper using pastels. So we didn't make a mess we put newspaper under the white paper. Finally we stuck our animal to the background and let it dry. At the end everybody ́s artwork looked great!!! This is a photo of my artwork. We did this artwork because we are going to show it all for pet day and I hope we do it again. I enjoyed it because art is one of my favorite subjects and I love to try something different and keep working. Artwork is really fun.

For lots of homework

The past week room 4 has been working on homework writing.  We have been learning how to choose a topic and write for or against it [persuasive writing].  I enjoyed writing the piece but some parts were challenging like thinking about all the ideas and many more. Next time I will probably think of longer better ideas and I also might have more fun with it. Hopefully next time I will persuade more people and make it better [funnier]. I personally liked writing about my opinion about homework. 



Why I Think We Should Have Lots
               Of Homework

 I feel that we should have lots of homework and I will explain three reasons why.

Firstly I think we should get lots of homework because we can improve our skills. For instance if some people need to work on math they could get lots of math homework to improve that skill. It could really help them throughout  their years in school.

Secondly we could practice so that we don’t fall behind and when we come to school we will most likely understand the subjects better and get a better grade. It would even help improve your knowledge.

Thirdly [final reason] we should have lots of homework because it will probably get you a better grade and if you get a better grade your parents will most likely be proud of you. They might let you do something you would like to do. You could keep improving and keep doing what you want.

It is without a doubt that you will get smarter by having lots of homework if you try. There are so many more advantages to having lots of homework than not. Those are my three reasons why I think we should have lots of homework. I know about all of that because everything I wrote has happened to me. Even though I don’t really like homework it would be good for me to have lots of it.

Hello my name is Landon Edward Zeller and I am 11 years old. I live in Reno Nevada. [U.S.] My initials are LEZ and my favorite number is 25. [sometimes 3 as well] I play many sports like swimming, basketball, soccer, baseball and football [I am not on a football team though]. When I am older I want to play in the MLB. I also like to color and do so many other things. My favorite color is orange even though I like so many other colors. I love animals like dogs, cats, horses, chickens and many more. I only have a dog, cat and six chickens. My mom and I might volunteer at the SPCA to help the animals there. Many good and bad things have happened to me throughout my life. For example making the sports teams and getting many scars. I have enjoyed most of my life so far. [That is only a little about me]
